VOLGA Project
The Volsky Plant (1897) is not only one of the largest plants in the Russian cement industry, but also a city-forming enterprise in the city of Volsk in the Saratov Region.
About the project
The unique raw material base of the Volsky Plant allows to produce high-grade cements of the first efficiency group, as well as sulfate-resistant cements.
In March 2017, a modernized production line was launched at the Volsky Plant. It took 30 months, about 5 million man-hours and over 280 million euros in capital investment to transform one of the oldest and most significant cement plants in Russia into a modern production facility.
The updated plant continues to work effectively for the benefit of the domestic market, producing high-quality products in accordance with environmental and safety standards.
The Volga project, within the framework of which a new technological line to produce clinker using a semi-wet method was installed, is a modernization of the raw material preparation section and the improvement of the associated engineering systems. The project includes the installation of a new line for the "semi-dry" method of cement production. The "semi-dry" method of production will reduce the amount of emissions by half. Gas consumption with the new method will be reduced by 20%.
- Total investment - 18.1 billion rubles.
- Implementation period 2012 - 2018.
