Type of Project: Oil Onshore Project
The Kharyaga oilfield lies 60 kilometres north of the Polar Circle in the Nenets Autonomous Territory in Russia’s oil-rich Timan-Pechora province.
Of the Kharyaga field are estimated to 45 / 55 million tons. Kharyaga's reserves, estimated at 160.4 million metric tons (1.2 billion bbl) of oil, have been developed under a 29/33-year PSA since 1999. Daily production in the field is currently 3000 tons of oil (2008-07-31). The field`s production capacity is 21,000 barrels of oil per day.
Discovered in 1970, Kharyaga’s first four reservoirs were brought on stream in 1986 by Komitek. Total identified the development of horizons 2 and 3 as a potentially profitable investment in 1991 and a year later signed a memorandum of agreement for production sharing with the regional public company. The production sharing contract was signed in 1995 and came into effect in January 1999. In October, the wells worked over by Total began production and output was tripled to more than 7,800 bbl/d, all of which is now exported to Germany and Baltic ports. Phase 2 was launched in 2000 and completed in 2003 with the startup of new installations.
Phase III involves developing additional reserves, sustaining a daily output of 30,000 barrels a day, achieving 95 per cent associated gas use and eliminating flaring.
Package 3 and its extension: 3 remote well pads an associated facilities (earthwork, structures, buildings and piping hook-up for wells, chemical, diesel injection, ESP’s, pipelines and OHL.
