Head of Mobile Maintenance Planning

A vacancy is available in an international gold mining company.

Head of Maintenance Planning is responsible to led the development and optimization of maintenance planning and analysis for heavy equipment, including budget management, SAP MM system, warehouse stock processes, and predictive maintenance in all mobile asset (Mining and Auxiliary Equipment).

This role is crucial for developing strategic initiatives, optimizing processes, and ensuring alignment with our overall business goals.Standardized reporting for top management, created personnel reserves, enhanced training systems, and developed business process documentation to improve operational efficiency and competencies.

Reporting to: Mobile Maintenance Director

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development :

  •  Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to improve the maintenance planning function, aligning it with business objectives.

2. Budget Management :

  • Standardize budget management processes and report key maintenance functions to top management, ensuring transparency and accountability.

3. Analytical and Reporting Processes:

  • Lead the implementation of predictive maintenance strategies, integrating predictive analytics tools to enhance maintenance processes and reduce downtime.

4. Predictive Maintenance:

  • Provide daily and weekly feedback to headquarters regarding site concerns, with actionable plans to address and mitigate these concerns.

5. Warehouse stock Management:

  • Optimize warehouse stock management by redesigning planning processes to meet operational requirements effectively.

6. SAP MM System Development:

  • Manage the development and implementation of the SAP MM system, addressing challenges and ensuring successful adoption.

7. Business Process Documentation

  • Develop and maintain business process documentation and regulations, ensuring compliance and improving overall efficiency

8. Personnel Management & Training, Competency Development

  • Establish a system for personnel reserve creation and training within planning departments to ensure continuity and skill enhancement.
  • Drive efforts to enhance the efficiency of functional management processes and develop team competencies, measuring success through key performance indicators.

9. Change Management:

  • Lead change management initiatives in stock formation and planning, utilizing effective strategies to ensure smooth transitions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and management in a heavy equipment environment for more than 10 years.
  • Strong understanding of predictive maintenance strategies and analytics tools.
  • Experience with budget management and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with SAP MM systems and related processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Extensive travel and site work across all locations
